Meaning of Colors and the Color Wheel

The color wheel can be a great help when creating art. Complementary colors are opposite each other on the color wheel. Such as red and green, purple and yellow, and orange and blue. When these combinations are selected for your artwork it will really be noticed by the viewer.

Analogous colors are close to each other on the color wheel. This for example would be red,red-orange and orange. These color combinations tie an artwork together.
